The working hours are Monday to Friday 7.30am till 4.30pm 

The Role

This is a customer facing role in which you are representative of the boohoo brand, first-rate communication and exceptional customer service skills are required.

You will support the manager and head chef to drive and maintain operational standards and develop a team that achieves results. Your all round experience will be key in maintaining a calm demeanour in periods of high volume and ensuring the canteen is operating to a high spec at all times.

You will demonstrate a duty of care by working within the health and safety and food safety act 1990 and subsequent regulations and to follow any instructions on hygiene given by your manager

Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

Supervising the Team

  • To ensure readiness for service, executing Attic operations throughout service including carrying out or organising opening and closing duties as assigned.
  • To safeguard equipment and shop floor as a duty of care to employees within the workplace
  • Assign tasks to employees to enable all required duties and responsibilities be performed seamlessly each shift.
  • Ensure the coffee machine is maintained to a level 3 standard, being responsible for the maintenance of the hopper and group handles as well as the general daily upkeep
  • Proactively deliver training to new team members and temp staff the ‘boohoo Attic’ way, including basic barista level 1 training, general food safety & hygiene practises that display due diligence, equipment training and outstanding customer service skills.
  • Assist in epos maintenance including some back office and loyalty system upkeep, all training will be provided.
  • Will assist the manager in the scheduling of employees to cover the designated shift patterns when requested or in cases of sickness or annual leave.
  • Monitors the team’s overall service and team work daily and works alongside manager to assist in identifying and implementing strategies to increase service delivery/productivity.

Selling
  • Assist in maintaining appropriate food and beverage stock levels, including ordering, stock checks and waste management.
  • Stock and replenish counters and service points as necessary and ensure all goods are rotated according to date and labelled correctly.
  • Put the customer first at all times and to identify customer needs promptly and accurately.
  • Provide feedback to manager on product sales, produce food products, and display p.o.s accordingly to enhance & maximise sales.
  • Anticipates customer needs and gains agreement for solutions with manager.
  • Service
  • Clean and tidy all areas in order to maintain a safe and hygienic working environment. “Have a ‘hand on’, ‘can do’ approach.”
  • Respond to customer comments, pass on suggestions and handle/refer complaints immediately in order to resolve matters without delay.
  • Ensure that all till operation, staff loyalty software procedures, cash handling and transactions are carried out accurately.
  • Ensure that the checking and recording of food temperatures are completed in accordance with Food Hygiene Regulations.
  • Carry out the production of food and drinks and ensure they are presented to the standard set by your manager, taking special care with presentation, portion control and quality.
  • Manage and prioritise your own time effectively and efficiently as to complete the extensive range of duties assigned.
