The Role

Reporting directly into the VP Marketing – North America, you will support the team on all brand and commercial marketing activities in the USA office. This function will lead boohoo’s content, social media and liaise closely with the influencer marketing team for the region. You will also support boohoo’s global brand and marketing strategy and have management responsibility for the output, development and results of a growing and talented team in Los Angeles

This is a role that requires a high level of co-ordination and collaboration. Key stakeholders include colleagues in Manchester and London, UK including the Head of Brand, social media managers, PR and influencer execs, creative and design leads, Head of Digital, eComms and Buying departments.   

Primary Responsibilities

Digital content

  • Defining an effective strategy and roadmap, collaborating across relevant departments to ensure content is locally relevant and impactful, delivers on the brand story and is uniquely boohoo.
  • Managing the overall North American content distribution schedule, ensuring all content is delivered accurately, to a high standard, on time.
  • Producing high-quality, insight-driven, targeted, engaging content for all channels, including online, PR and events.
  • Where necessary, writing effective copy, adhering to house style guidelines, for a variety of use cases, e.g. website copy, social media and email marketing.
  • Measuring and reporting on the performance of content and digital marketing activities.
  • Acting as a guardian for the brand locally and globally.

     

     

    Social Media

  • Working with Head of Brand and social media managers, contribute to the development of the overarching social media strategy, with a particular focus on deepening engagement in across our social media channels for the US/Nth America.
  • Managing one full-time social media exec and one content manager and work closely with other members of the social media team to promote a culture of testing, measurement, knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Understanding and management of social media budgets to further help drive awareness and commercial ROI for Boohoo USA
  • Continually monitor performance and deliver weekly, monthly and quarterly reports

     

    PR and experiential events

  • Supporting VP Marketing with experiential events and/or influencer activations such as pop-up stores, brand ambassador collaborations and influencer road trips.
  • Supporting PR team with traditional and online PR efforts.

 

Team management and leadership

  • Leadership and development of the Content, and Social Media Team in LA. Creating an environment that encourages high performance and ensuring everyone has what they need to function at their happy, productive best.
  • Leading regular team meetings, 1-2-1s, and channel reviews.
  • Setting Team and individual objectives and conducting annual performance reviews.
  • Align and project manage all large scale Boohoo USA activities.

 

Skills, experience and interests

  • Great organisational skills, exceptional attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to deadlines.
  • Great communication skills (written, verbal and presentation), confident delivering information, insight and feedback to stakeholders at every level.
  • The ability to build positive working relationships quickly. [You probably have a highly collaborative style and are generally nice to work with.]
  • Highly numerate, able to work with numerical data analysts to understand performance and make evidence-based decisions.
  • A genuine passion for social media with a deep understanding of all major platforms and their role in customer communications. Ideally you will have applied experience in a fast-moving, international retail or relevant lifestyle brand.
  • A creative thinker, someone who innovates, and has acumen to explore new opportunities while identifying lean, agile solutions.
  • Excellent copywriting skills are an advantage while experience of delivering compelling content across various formats and to a range of stakeholders is essential.
  • Agency experience is welcome but client-side is preferred.
  • MUST HAVE budget management experience
  • Solid business acumen and general awareness of core marketing channels and understanding of KPIs and performance goals
