We’re looking for a talented developer to join our analytics team at boohoo. The role involves taking large and sometimes complex datasets and translating them into easy and engaging applications that allow people throughout the business to glean insight and inform their decisions. You will work with stakeholders at every level and across every area of the business, and with the support of a dynamic and talented team of developers, analysts and data scientists, bring data to life using QlikView and other tools. The successful candidate will also conduct ad hoc pieces of analysis around specific business questions and present findings in a clear and articulate way.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and building QlikView applications for wide range of functions and users across the business.
  • Maintaining and optimising existing applications.
  • Complete ad hoc analysis independently or as part of the wider insight team.
  • Communicate and document complex business logic, definitions and processes.
  • Providing information and support to business functions such as merchandising, finance and marketing and promoting the use of self-service analytics and data-driven decision making.

    Required Skills / Experience

  • Natural understanding of data, how to use it, transform it and visualise/communicate it.
  • Advanced knowledge of self-service business intelligence / analytics software, specifically QlikView.
  • Working well with people, understanding business problems and opportunities and ensuring clear and concise capture of requirements.
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL and relational database structures.
  • Balancing several concurrent workstreams and managing time effectively.
  • Investigating and solving complex problems and working with big datasets.
  • Experience in providing productionised business reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Additional Skills / Experience

  • Experience using ‘big data’ solutions (Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift).
  • Understanding of business functions and their associated KPI’s: digital marketing/e commerce/merchandising/commercial finance.
  • Project management skills.
  • Programming skills in R, Python or others.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel inc VBA scripting.
