What you’ll do at Boohoo:

Provide support to the Financial Controller in respect of all financial matters, taking particular responsibility for the below in either Customer services, Operations or distribution but with the ability to transfer skills across each area:

  • Daily, weekly and monthly financial reporting including detailed variance analysis
  • Ability to understand the key drivers of the performance and ability to interrogate data further.
  • Building Group reporting to support the decision making across all brands
  • Partner with key business stakeholders and advise on financial based matters for said departments including weekly/monthly reviews to discuss key performance issues
  • Ensure the timely and accurate submission of all reports and to continually review processes for improvement.
  • Preparation of the monthly management accounts including detailed monthly balance sheet reconciliations in line with company process / deadlines.
  • Detailed, flexed and accurate budgeting /reforecasting in conjunction with the Financial Planning team.
  • Invoice cost management where applicable including invoice validation and sign-off (a full reconciliation of all weekly / monthly agency costs, highlighting any discrepancies and subsequently processing invoices through to payment in line with agreed terms).
  • Cash flow management and forecasting of related spend on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Production and development of Bonus performance and payroll calculations where applicable (CS & Operations only)
  • Ensure that all financial controls and processes adhere to company procedures.
  • Provide financial support to the Finance Team (and to provide “local” cover during periods of absence within the team).
  • To drive forward a cost management culture whilst maintaining agreed service levels.
  • Perform an audit of the information reported– control the process flow and source of data.
  • Deliver ad hoc project reports to stakeholders across the business including business case evaluations to justify capex requests
  • To carry out any other duties, which from time to time may be reasonably requested from the Management Team.
  • Weekly reporting (shared between the dept.) Saturday/Sunday morning (1-2 hours per day) approx. every 6 weeks where you receive a half day back in lieu for each weekend worked
 
Management and succession planning             
                                                                      
  • Deputising for the Financial Controller during holidays and when in Manchester
  • Opportunity to grow into the next future financial controller
  • Assist with the day-to-day man-management of key departmental support.
  • Managing operations or carrier finance admin roles on a day to day basis where applicable
  • Team Cross skilling
  • Ability to make decisions on whether expenses are OPEX or CAPEX
  • Supporting Financial controller to driving a process improvement culture in the team to streamline key processes such as :
    • Invoice validation
    • Brand reporting for group reporting requirements
    • Peak exposure & forecasting processes in line with the financial planning team
    • Bonus validation
    • Lean transformation application to key processes such as month end
    • Ensuring operations resource and CS planning models aligned
    • Automation daily reporting
    • Removal non value added activities and reports

What we need you to have/be:                                              

  • Qualified Accountant
  • A minimum 3 year background within a financial environment.
  • Senior Management accountant & business partnering experience preferably in a large DC environment
  • Proven continuous improvement background and mind-set
