The Role

As a Senior Site Operations Manager, reporting to Head of Operations, you will be tasked to meet and exceed business objectives as well as financial and operational KPI’s. You will be managing, inspiring and motivating a number of Operation Managers to achieve operational excellence, high employee engagement and service improvement. As a second in command, you will be responsible for the end to end running of the operation from inbound to outbound and be responsible for site in the absence of the Head of Operations. Working hours are Monday to Friday during the day, however a flexible approach is required as you may be covering other shifts, including weekends.

The Person

You will need to have at least 18 months experience in a similar role, ideally from within an automated distribution centre. Six direct reports and a sizeable budget to look after. You will need to customer focussed, experienced in delivering to the business’ SLA. This role is a part of new structure, as we expand our Burnley operation.

Some of the things that you will do…

  • Leading the Operations Team and delivering on the overall operational KPI’s
  • Responsible for the development of the operational talent pool by optimising the skills of the existing team.
  • Championing succession planning to ensure key roles are filled and individual talent is recognised
  • Delivering and managing peak trading periods
  • Responsible and accountable for the operational performance of all areas and for exceeding targets of all required metrics
  • Motivate, mentor and coach Operations Managers
  • Identifying and highlighting further opportunities for services and process improvements

What you will need to demonstrate:

  • Your achievement of results e.g. business improvements, cost savings, revenue generation
  • Excellent leadership, people management, communication and influencing skills at a senior level
  • Experience in managing large multi-site
  • Ability to translate business strategy into day to day delivery
  • Strong commercial understanding and previous accountability for profit targets
  • Setting and reviewing Quality performance standards
  • Setting and reviewing of organisational / productivity objectives in line with the commercial contract
  • Managing Supplier Engagement
  • Ability to manage and influence key stakeholders
  • Experience of managing Operations Team within e-commerce/e-fulfillment or FMCG warehouse or distribution centre
