Solutions Architect

Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
 You will provide comprehensive and highly technical consulting and leadership to the business unit and IT management acting as a technical expert recommending the most efficient and cost effective solution/strategy for the system design throughout all phases of the change programme, development and implementation process.
 Working closely with the Development Technical Lead you will support the development team architecting, designing, and building a clearly defined solutions..
 Provide the following expertise and assistance for the programmes of work.
o Provide solution options based on defined requirements and create high-level solution designs
o Validate with the Head of IT the technical viability of proposed solutions, as required
o Act as the Design Authority on projects ensuring that the solution designs adhere to Architecture Standards and the detailed designs adhere to the signed off High Level Design
o Ensure all design documents are updated at the end of the project delivery

Knowledge and Experience

 Full accountability for the complete definition of the solution architecture and design for the group
 Experience of the associated design, optimisation which will integrate in a diverse technical estate
 An appreciation of Java and Integration Platforms will be favoured, with experience in these areas highly desirable.
 Knowledge of related web technologies and processes
 Web / eCommerce experience
 An appreciation for hardware will be key, as you will liaise with the third party outsourced infrastructure partner on the system architecture and how this integrates with the hardware.
