Job Summary:


The Job holder is responsible for providing finance support in relation to inbound and outbound carriers, customer services and refunds. This will involve working alongside internal stakeholders across the Group Supply Chain and Customer Services teams as well as various Group suppliers.


Tasks, duties & responsibilities:

  • Produce weekly and monthly commercial reporting around carriage, customer services and refunds.
  • Liaise with financial reporting team to ensure commercial reporting reflects monthly management accounts and variances are fully understood.
  • Implement invoice validation procedures for carrier invoices to ensure accuracy, with potential to move to self-billing in the future.
  • Lead the finance support for carrier tenders, quantifying the impact of rate changes and advising the business on the best options.
  • Measure carrier SLAs as well as reporting on cost and managing claims process for carrier failure
  • Contribute to annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts for carriage, customer services and refunds.
  • Pro-actively investigating drivers of customer contact as well as regularly challenging and supporting customer service senior management team as and where required
  • Managing fraudulent customer claims to resolution
  • Pro-actively look for opportunities to improve reporting and analysis to better support stakeholders.
  • Work alongside analytics and BI functions to drive improvements in insight, reporting and processes.
  • Other ad hoc analysis, project work and reporting as required.



  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA (or equivalent) qualified
  • Strong commercial acumen and business awareness
  • Comfortable dealing with and influencing senior business stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to manipulate and present data to produce meaningful information
  • Experience in logistics, retail or ecommerce
