Social Media Manager – Nasty Gal

The Social Media Manager will be a key team member working in the London HQ. As part of the Brand Marketing function, the Social Media Manager will be responsible for developing and delivering strategies focused on increase brand awareness, engagement, building communities, as well as driving traffic and revenue via our social channels and other online communities.

The ideal candidate will be both creative and analytical, extremely agile, work well under pressure, and be forward-thinking, as well as a great team player with excellent communication skills.

You will be full of ideas and able to develop creative solutions to key businesses challenges, be a part of relevant cultural conversations, react first to social trends and utilise social listening to understand more about our audience.

This role is currently responsible for a Social Media Assistant in Manchester, as well as a Social Media Executive in our LA office, so requires someone with managerial experience, and who understands how to work with global teams.

As a global business, social media is not a 9-5 role so it is expected that the candidate is comfortable with working some irregular hours as well as international travel when required.

Job Description:

  • Develop and deliver Nasty Gal’s social media strategy, setting KPIs relevant to each channel against brand and commercial objectives, such as increasing following and engagement metrics
  • Able to think US-first; as a Californian-born brand, with a majority US following, we must ensure our content is relevant for our American customer while still serving a global audience
  • Deep understanding of the social media landscape and experience managing social media comms for like-minded brands
  • Solid working knowledge of all key social platforms and developed relationships with their account management teams, including but not limited to, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube
  • Support the Senior Brand Marketing Manager on delivering against Brand goals, including supporting on cross-functional projects outside of immediate remit
  • Manage the social media team to execute the daily content schedule including posts, stories, live content
  • Produce weekly and monthly reports for senior leadership, with clear actionable takeaways or recommendations for growth
  • Responsible for sourcing and managing content collaborators to create bespoke assets for channels, in conjunction with the influencer marketing teams
  • Work closely with the international Brand Marketing Managers to plan content effectively for key launches, as well as working collaboratively on campaign executions
  • Work closely with the Head of Customer Services to monitor feedback across our social channels, and advise on best response in the Nasty Gal TOV. This could include giving presentations to our CS team
  • Support brand and PR teams in creating content at events
  • Excellent communication skills able to collaborate cross-functionally across marketing, creative, studio, buying, merchandising and ecommerce
  • Lead and mentor the social media team, setting quarterly objectives and development plans



  • Ideally 4-5 years experience in social media at a fast-paced company, start-up or agency environment
  • An enthusiasm for the Nasty Gal brand, its communities and culture
  • Culture-obsessed – you are aware of what’s going on across social and IRL
  • Interest and knowledge of related fields relating back to the brand DNA – music, arts, feminism, etc
  • Experience with analytics and social listening tools, such as Google Analytics, Branch, Dash Hudson, Social Bakers
