Summary

37.5 hours a week.
£9.70 - £10.00 per hour
 14.00 - 22.00 & 18.00 - 02.00 shifts available 
 

Role Description


We have an exciting opportunity to join our new Distribution Centre in Wellingborough as an on-site trainer. You will report into the Training Manager. Your role is to deliver effective operational training and consistent assessment, under the guidance of the Training Manager, for warehouse operatives, with a specific focus on speed to competence for new starters to maximise productivity. During ‘quieter’ training periods you will undertake operational duties.
 
 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Delivers operational induction process and maintains accurate training records/matrix, including trainee performance.
  • Ensures ‘speed to competence’ of new starters to the Company through delivery of effective operational induction and routine training across all warehouse functions.
  • Delivers operational training designed to ensure achievement of KPI’s, delivering training interventions and support where performance is below the required level.
  • Produces concise reports/summaries of operational training progress and outcomes to training manager and SOM’s, ensuring proactive approach to performance issues during initial training process.
  • Ensures SOP’s exist for all processes and operational areas covered in training to ensure consistency.
  • Delivers well-structured concise and engaging training solutions.
  • Provides data and reports as required to enable impact of training delivery to be measured through performance statistics and KPI achievement.
  • Ensures that the delivery of all operational training is professional, and delivered in line with boohoo values and culture.
  • Reviews operational training processes continually, making suggestions to Training Manager regarding improvements.
  • Designs training delivery as required prior to implementation.
  • Maintains operational knowledge of all areas of operation – able to perform all tasks covered in operational training programmes.
  • Undertakes development as required to advance personal training skills.
  • Acts as ambassador for boohoo culture and values at all times and is a role model for new starters – engages and motivates new starters.
  • If additional learning and development needs are identified outside of the operational training remit, escalates these to the Training Manager.
  • Maintains excellent and up to date knowledge of WMS system to incorporate in new starter and refresher training as required.
  • Supports Training Manager as required with coordination of H&S and Statutory training on site.
  • During ‘quieter’ training periods will undertake operational duties as requested by Training Manager/Site Management.
 

Skills Required

 

  • Passion for training and talent development
  • Must be a people person with the ability to build rapport with colleagues and delegates
  • Experience in delivering operational training, preferably within a logistics/warehousing environment where there is a requirement to train a high volume of colleagues
  • Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Good computer and database skills
  • Strong facilitation skills and confident communicator
  • Flexibility with regards to working times, there will be occasions where cover is needed on other shifts to support the business training needs.
  • Able to build and maintain positive relationships with all functions of the business.
