This role will be based at our brand new site on Thurmaston Lane which has been developed to be an example of best practice in garment manufacturing and also aims to add value to the local community, beyond creating good quality new jobs for local people.

As the HR manager you will be;

  • Responsible for all the HR activities taking place in our factory and forecast the hiring needs.
  • Crafting job requirements and descriptions for all positions in the factory.
  • Conducting induction, training and development programs for new hires.
  • Managing employee records and payroll data of all factory colleagues.
  • Coordinating with Production Manager to ensure safety programs are followed within the unit.
  • Ensuring all factory and Boohoo Group policies and procedures are being followed by colleagues within the factory.
  • Working closely with Boohoo Group on community outreach activities and contribute to the factory reputation for manufacturing excellence.
  • At the centre of the Boohoo group UK manufacturing centre of excellence, by working closely with Boohoo Group on community outreach activities and contribute to the factory reputation for manufacturing excellence.
  • Responsible for circa 90 staff across manufacturing and printing units.
  • Supporting the creation and delivery of the learning and development courses as part of Agenda 4 change programme to help the education of the Boohoo group buying, merchandising and design teams.
  • Supporting on the creation and delivery of the continuous training and up-skilling of the factory workforce to improve productivity and to enable higher price pointed and more complex garments be manufactured at Thurmaston.
  • Given a further opportunity to support the education of the Boohoo supplier base in Leicester through facilitation of factory visits and support as required. 
  • Playing an active role in the development and growth of the Leicester and UK manufacturing scene by welcoming Leicester community and stakeholder parties and groups as and when required.
  • Support the PR and Comms team as required in advocating for Thurmaston Road and the wider Leicester manufacturing industry. 
  • A self-starter with a proactive attitude, this role will be standalone reporting into the Factory General Manager with a dotted line into the Group Head Office HR team.
