Job Summary

Reporting to the Head of Business Intelligence, and working with the Financial Reporting and Controls team, you'll drive and facilitate decision making through the development and improvement of both financial and analytical reporting and controls for boohoo’s inventory and product costing.

Leading the continuous improvement to our Product costing and Duty Management Systems and Tools, you’ll deliver a robust and accurate view of all costs (standard and actual) through the inbound supply chain and within boohoo’s stock holding. 

Partnering throughout the group, you’ll ensure that critical business requirements are captured and realized and you'll advise the business on issues related to inventory and product costing valuation.

As a member of the group finance team, you’ll be responsible for reporting all elements of Inventory valuation, variance analysis, stock ageing, freight and duty costs and balance sheet reconciliation

 

Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

Provide monthly support to the Financial Reporting team around Product Costing and Stock Valuation.

Define and Deliver relevant, timely and accurate insight and analysis of, both planned and actual, product costs, exchange rates, freight charges duty liabilities and inventory valuation

Establish and maintain appropriate Costing and Reporting systems and strengthen existing tools to facilitate accurate product costing across the group.

Managing financial control of duty management systems and compliance with HMRC

Reconciling the Duty Management System to HMRC and Freight Forwarder records

Ensuring Product Costing and Duty Management Systems are scalable and reactive to changes expected from both Brexit and boohoo’s expected growth

Monthly reconciliation of inventory to reported levels in boohoo Warehouses.

Monthly reconciliation of Inventory movements and modelling of variances held in stock.

Partnering with Customs Manager and the Buying, Merchandising and Supply Chain functions to improve and streamline costing processes and ensure accurate data is captured within the business systems.

Day to day maintenance of Product Costing matrix, delivering appropriate support and exception reporting to the relevant teams.

Ensuring that all processes and controls are compliant with relevant statutory requirements and company policy

Working with various project teams to assist and provide expertise to aid the delivery of new Product Information, Duty Management, Procurement and Inventory Management and Control systems

Supporting the Finance, BI, Product & Supply Chain teams in the development and evolution of an integrated long-term strategic agenda for Global Product Costing , ensuring stakeholder requirements are met in the delivery of all new processes and systems.

Adhere to audit controls and operating procedures to ensure integrity and completeness of stock records, contributing to design of effective controls.
