Job Summary:

The Job holder is responsible for working with the Head of Finance – Group Projects to ensure all financial aspects of major projects across all brands are delivered. 

In the role, you will be a key part of the wider Projects team working to deliver solutions for major business projects across all functions, most notably on the Group Supply Chain function and Customer Services. This role will be based from our Manchester Head Office with travel to our other sites across the UK.

 

Tasks, duties & responsibilities:

  • Prepare and publish accurate monthly financial capital statements in line with Group reporting timelines and to continually review all processes for improvement.
  •  Support the quarterly capital forecasting / cash flow process, working with other brands and group functions to provide a consolidated group view.
  • Group Reporting – develop and implement a more robust and consistent reporting format across all functions which can be circulated to the key stakeholders – this includes daily, weekly and monthly reporting. 
  • Prepare comprehensive financial models to deliver cash flow forecasts, scenario analysis, risk assessment and return on investment analysis on all key project deliverables across the Group.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating the Project model throughout the life of the project, providing a financial overview of the project (i.e. variations to contract / budgeted spend, potential efficiencies, identify relevant KPI measures against the respective projects etc.).
  • Support the Head of Finance Group Projects on implementing a more robust way of managing individual project spend through the better use of the existing / future financial systems.
  • Support Group functions from a finance perspective on new projects / developments, attend Project meetings to provide a financial input / update.
  • Support core finance functions to ensure payments from contractors are made in line with contracts / cash-flow forecasts and that MI and accounting for projects is timely and accurate.
  • Work with third parties (consultants, contractors) to scope project solutions (both strategic and operational).
  • Post investment appraisal of major projects to ensure business case benefits are achieved.
  • To provide ad-hoc financial support where relevant as required by the business
